The Purchase Price, film en français - Barbara Stanwyck joue Joan Gordon, un chanteur de la torche qui dirige loin de son petit ami gangster (Lyle Talbot) pour devenir une femme mariée par correspondance à une difficulté agriculteur du Dakota du Nord (Brent George). Leur relation a un début difficile, mais tout comme Joan se rend compte qu'elle développe des sentiments pour son mari, son ancien petit ami arrive à gagner son dos.
