Rain, film en français - Janey est en vacances avec son frère, Jim, mère, Kate, et le père Ed, à leur maison de plage sur la Mahurangi Peninsual en Nouvelle-Zélande. Ed et Kate, qui sont sur le point de divorcer, assis autour dans la cour arrière toute la journée à boire du whisky et Janey et Jim sont laissés à leurs propres dispositifs. Cady, un Boaty locale qui est d'avoir une liaison avec Kate, attrape pubère l'?il de Janey. En réponse à la problème d'alcool de sa femme et de l'infidélité récurrente, Ed tourne vers l'alcool, en ignorant ses enfants presque autant que sa femme, qui conduit finalement à le destin d'un personnage.
