Out of the Past, film en français - Jeff Bailey, un ancien détective, dirige une station de gaz dans une petite ville, où il mène une vie simple et tranquille. Ses amours sont la pêche et une fille avec qui se marier. Reçoit une visite inattendue d'un vieil ami qui lui dit que le patron veut le voir.
