Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, film en français - Convaincus que les communistes sont contaminent les Etats-Unis, un ordre général, dans un accès de folie, une grève de l'air surprise nucléaire contre l'Union soviétique. Son aide de camp, le capitaine Mandrake, en essayant de trouver la formule pour éviter les bombardements. Pour sa part, le président américain Il entre en contact avec Moscou pour persuader le gouvernement soviétique que l'attaque est rien de plus qu'une erreur stupide. Pendant ce temps, le conseiller du président, un ancien scientifique nazi, Dr. Strangelove, confirme l'existence de l'Doomsday Machine, un dispositif capable de représailles soviétique de détruire l'humanité pour toujours.
