The Apartment, film en français - DC Baxter est un employé modeste mais ambitieux d'une compagnie d'assurance à Manhattan. Il est célibataire et vit seul dans un appartement modeste qui donne l'occasion à ses supérieurs pour sa datation. Il espère que ces faveurs serviront à améliorer leur position dans la société. Mais la situation change quand il tombe amoureux d'une ascenseur qui se trouve être l'amant d'un des dirigeants qui utilisent leur appartement.
